Аннотация: Although the two parts are now published as a single work, Don Quixote, Part Two was a sequel published ten years after the original novel. While Part One was mostly farcical, the second half is more serious and philosophical about the theme of deception. Part Two of Don Quixote explores the concept of a character understanding that he is written about: an idea much explored in the 20th century.

Аннотация: The monography «The controlled molecular magnetism of mono-, bi-and polynuclear complexes based on hydrazones, azomethenes and its analogues» represents the encyclopedic edition reflecting the basic experimental - theoretical aspects concerning new scientific area- magnetochemistry of exchange-couple systems. Alongside with a statement of fundamental concepts of magnetism including features of isotropic and anisotropic exchange interaction, and the theory of spin transitions, the central part of the monography is devoted to the analysis of magnetochemistry’s opportunities at the description of a structure and properties of bi- and tetranuclear complexes as well as supramolecular architectures based mainly on hydrazones, azomethenes and their analogues. The interrelation between features of an electronic and geometrical structure of complexes and character of exchange effects is considered, the magneto-structural correlations in the important modelling objects for directed design of one, two and threedimensional magneto-ordered structures have been revealed.

Аннотация: This is the story of Lady Constance Chatterley, or «Connie», her loveless marriage to Sir Clifford Chatterley, a man rendered both physically and emotionally crippled and impotent by the First World War, and her love affair with their gamekeeper, Mellors, a unique character who has deliberately retreated from opportunities for social and economic advancement and returned to his working class roots. The story is completely character-driven, which is why its grand themes of the immutability of the class divide, the dangers of championing the mind over the body and the fundamental human need for true «connexion» with other human beings are almost never jarring.

Аннотация: One of the great Shakespearean tragedies, Macbeth is a dark and bloody drama of ambition, murder, guilt and revenge. Prompted by the prophecies of three mysterious witches and goaded by his ambitious wife, the Scottish thane Macbeth murders Duncan, King of Scotland, in order to succeed him on the throne. This foul deed soon entangles the conscience-stricken nobleman in a web of treachery, deceit, and more murders, which ultimately spells his doom. Set amid the gloomy castles and lonely heaths of medieval Scotland, Macbeth paints a striking dramatic portrait of a man of honor and integrity destroyed by a fatal character flaw and the tortures of a guilty imagination.

Set in San Francisco, this is the story of Martin Eden, an impoverished seaman who pursues, obsessively and aggressively, dreams of education and literary fame. London, dissatisfied with the rewards of his own success, intended Martin Eden as an attack on individualism and a criticism of ambition; however, much of its status as a classic has been conferred by admirers of its ambitious protagonist.

Born in Newgate Prison to a picaresque mother, Moll propels herself through marriages, periods of success and destitution, and a trip to the New World and back, only to return to the place of her birth as a popular prostitute and brilliant thief. Daniel Defoe created a female character-narrator who recounts, from a woman’s point of view, her life and adventures, portraying critically the society in which she lived.

Using a background of myth and fairy-tale to expand the boundaries of nineteenth-century realist fiction, Collins gives one of the best accounts in fiction of blindness and its implications. Using a background of myth and fairy-tale to expand the boundaries of nineteenth century realist fiction, Collins not only takes a blind person as his central character but also explores the idea of blindness and its implications.

Аннотация: The Return of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of 13 Sherlock Holmes stories, originally published in 1903-1904, by Arthur Conan Doyle. This was the first Holmes collection since 1893, when Holmes had «died» in The Final Problem. Having published The Hound of the Baskervilles in 1901-1902 (although setting it before Holmes’ death) Doyle came under intense pressure to revive his famous character. The first story is set in 1894 and has Holmes returning in London and explaining the period from 1891-94, a period called «The Great Hiatus» by Sherlockian enthusiasts. Also of note is Watson’s statement in the last story of the cycle that Holmes has retired, and forbids him to publish any more stories.
